The AQ300 Series Steam Boiler Feedwater Management System, designed for up to 3 Steam Boilers, continuously monitors boiler water quality: automatically adjusting the chemical dosing ensures the boilers are adequately protected in accordance with BS 2486:1997 at minimum cost.
The prime objective of any feedwater treatment regime is to protect the boiler from failure. Correctly applied the chemicals will ensure that the heat transfer surfaces are clean and free from scale, prevent corrosion and maintain the steam’s quality by preventing foaming and priming.
Automating the feedwater treatment has many benefits not least eliminating the loss in boiler efficiency due to scale formation (typically 2%-3% of your fuel bill) or increased maintenance costs and down time when boiler tubes fail due to corrosion.
Integrating Oxygen, pH and surface blowdown (TDS) control with the correct application of chemicals minimises scale and corrosion damage whilst saving fuel and water. In so doing it ensures maximum boiler protection whilst using minimum amounts of chemicals: maximising efficiency, minimising costs.
The in-house designed and manufactured pH and conductivity probes are temperature compensated as standard ensuring high accuracy and low drift; essential for an efficient low maintenance system. Being external the probes are not subject to unpredictable changes in the electrical circuits as is the case with most boiler mounted probes and they can be routinely cleaned and calibrated without recourse to shutting down the boilers.
The wall mounted AQ300 system has two compartments one housing the microprocessor electronic controls with the probes, sample cooler and sampling valves in the separate adjacent compartment.
The integrated, micro-processor control unit is simple to setup and provides a manual scrolling display of boiler water pH, conductivity and temperature readings. The PC based software provides continuous displays of pH and conductivity of each boiler with optional oxygen readings, feed water temperature and flow rate, dosing pumps stroke rate, chemical consumption & low level alarm and fuse failure.
The 'Steam Boiler Feedwater Management System’ has inbuilt RS232 and RS422 comms interface to Aquanet PC software as well as serial over IP communications.
By design the system monitors and controls the boiler water pH and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) of each boiler calculating and injecting the exact amount of oxygen chemical treatment based on actual flowrate and feedwater temperature 24hrs/day, 7 days/week.
Maximising the protection of the heat transfer surfaces whilst minimising chemical usage, water and blowdown rates, Maintains overal efficiency, reduces maintenance and downtime, saving money throughout the lifetime of the boilers.
During commissioning the 'Steam Boiler Feedwater Management System’ is programmed to suit the clients existing water treatment chemicals.
